Some important dates/notes for your diary…
Christmas presents for the NSPCC
Each year we have a present collection for children in our community who are less fortunate than we are.
If you would like to join us on our NSPCC Christmas present appeal simply buy a small gift, wrap it, label which age and gender it is appropriate for and place under the Christmas tree in December.
We find this to be a great way of contributing to the lives of children who would otherwise go without.
Pre school Christmas concert. (Leavers only)
The concerts this year will be held on Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th December at 3pm for all pre-school children in their last year at nursery. Unfortunately due to limited space we will only be able to offer parents 2 places per child to come and see the performance.
We are asking a small fee of £1.00 per ticket that will go to our collection for the NSPCC and will be collected by Jeanette from the charity, along with Christmas presents, on the day of one of the concerts.
If you wish to attend please find us at the office to purchase your tickets. If you cannot attend and wish other relatives or family members to use your allocation, please let us know.
We will be having Christmas dinner on Monday 17th December for the children that attend nursery on that day.
The Christmas fancy dress party will be on Tuesday 18th December at 2pm and will involve party games, food and a visit from Santa. If your child does not attend on that day and you wish them to come along then please let us know as soon as possible as we may have to enlist some extra help. Equally if you wish to come along yourselves to help out on the day please ask at the office.
Staff Christmas gifts
We are always extremely grateful every year when parents show their appreciation to the staff by buying little gifts as a thank you. Although we don’t want to seem presumptuous in this, can we ask that any gifts bought for staff be handed in to the office where they can be shared out equally to all staff across the nursery. We appreciate that you may prefer to hand these to the staff personally but we always try to ensure that everybody, including kitchen and cleaning staff (who often get forgotten) receive something as a show of appreciation. Also as room sizes and ratio’s change (1:3 in babies and 1:8 in pre school) some staff naturally end up with far more than others.
Christmas closing times.
The nursery will close at 3pm on Monday 24th December and will be closed over the Christmas period, opening again at 7.30am on Wednesday 2nd January 2019.
